Rural Family Home

A modern country home transformed with warmth, personality and a considered approach to everyday family life.

Location: Countryside setting
Property: Modern country family home
Scope: Multi-room interior transformation
Service: Full room design
Focus: Warmth, personality and practical family living

This modern country family home was reimagined across a series of key living spaces, with a focus on introducing warmth, personality and functionality.

The sitting room, previously cold and dated, was transformed into a calm and inviting space designed for relaxation. With three external walls, the room required careful consideration of colour and texture to counterbalance the cooler light. A rich, layered scheme was introduced, complemented by considered lighting, refined detailing and a gold-framed, wall mounted television, creating a space that feels both comfortable and quietly sophisticated.

The former dining room was reimagined as a vibrant playroom, opening directly onto the garden. A palette of soft greens, creams, navy and warm orange tones was used to create an uplifting, modern and playful environment. A curated mix of artwork, including accessible pieces from high street brands, added personality while maintaining a cohesive, design-led feel.

In contrast, the nursery embraced a more immersive concept, with a gentle jungle-inspired theme brought to life through Sanderson fabrics and subtle, interchangeable decorative elements. The result is a space that feels both imaginative and serene.

The master suite was enhanced with the addition of a dedicated dressing room, designed with both practicality and visual interest in mind. A central island and contrasting colour palette create a functional yet elevated space, while maintaining a sense of calm and order.

A fully functional laundry room was also introduced, combining integrated appliances with new cabinetry and carefully considered finishes. Existing elements, including the original sink, were retained and incorporated into the design, reflecting a thoughtful and sustainable approach. Wallpaper was used to add interest, particularly as the space is visible from the hallway.

Throughout the home, radiators, lighting and key fixtures were updated to create a consistent and refined finish, while architectural features such as the vaulted ceiling were enhanced to emphasise light and space.

The result is a home that feels warm, layered and deeply personal, thoughtfully designed to support everyday family life while bringing joy to each individual space.
